Inspired by palmettos along a trail in Cedar Key Wildlife Refuge, Florida. Colors of the dried fronds are my "whimsey."
Textile artwork is hand painted with acrylic and fabric medium. Embroidering is by free motion machine stitching through supporting layers of cotton and batting. The 17x41 inch artwork is stretched over a 12x36 inch internal frame.
Original art is mounted in custom wood curved float frame in dark olive.
